Handgun Safety Course

We all love a good two-handed grip on our gun. We use that two-handed grip to maximize control, accuracy, and recoil management. It’s optimistic to assume that a two-handed grip will always be available and we aren’t in the business of optimism. We are in the business of preparedness, and in that realm, we must consider situations where you only have one hand available. Sharpening skills with one hand, both dominant and support hand, will make you a much better-prepared shooter.

Your range fee, hearing/eye protection, targets, and classroom materials, are all included in the cost!

Requirements

  1. 1. You must have a valid FOID
  2. 2. Valid IL Concealed Carry permit
  3. 3. Formal basic firearm training-Maxon reserves the right to request a copy of a certificate proving training
  4. 4. Reliable handgun (semi-auto or revolver)
  5. 5. Extra magazine if using semi auto firearm
  6. 6. Eye/Ear protection
  7. 7. 50 rounds of ammunition

Each class is limited to 8 students so everyone gets the individual instruction, and guidance, needed to feel confident and comfortable on the range.

Vigilance demands versatility, especially when considering scenarios where one hand may be incapacitated. Elevating proficiency in shooting with both dominant and support hands is indispensable for comprehensive preparedness strategies

We value your time. You can sign up and reschedule training classes online, and all of our amenities are in just one location!
Equipment
We use only the finest training materials including SIRT training pistols, a wide selection of rental firearms, and large screen TV's in a comfortable classroom.

All training classes are non-refundable, but may be re-scheduled once with at least 72 hours notice.

Failure to show, or less than 3 days notice given of inability to attend, will result in a 25% rescheduling fee.
