TECC-Civilian First Care Provider follows the TECC recommended guideline for emergency trauma care assessment and medical intervention of severely injured persons. TECC is a field proven method designed to help explain the different types of trauma, and how to treat them. Understanding what you must physically do to help someone in a trauma situation can make all the difference.
Students will walk away as a First Care Provider (FCP) who can serve a critical role during the initial moments after complex and dynamic disasters. FCP’s often have immediate access to severely injured victims, and can provide time-sensitive, life saving interventions; the FCP is the first link in the trauma chain of survival. In this class you will get hands on experience with how to handle different types of trauma, and demonstrations on how to use the most effective tools and gear available.
Students will engage in classroom, and practical skill application to gain a working knowledge of interventions that may be necessary to deal with traumatic injury.
This class is taught by Jim Dexter of Tactically Sound Training Center. He is a 13 year law enforcement officer who spent 10 years in the volunteer fire service. As an FBI certified Firearms Instructor and American Safety and Health Institute Emergency Medical Responder Instructor Jim combines the experiences in his background to deliver a curriculum tailored to your environment. All Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) content has been marked as approved educational content by the Committee on TECC.
Failure to show, or less than 3 days notice given of inability to attend, will result in a 25% rescheduling fee.
